Audemars Piguet (AP) was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, Switzerland, by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet. From its inception, the brand has been family-owned and has remained independent throughout its history.
With over a century of watchmaking expertise, AP has built a reputation for producing exceptional timepieces. The brand has a rich heritage of innovation, craftsmanship, and technical mastery.
AP watches are renowned for their meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each timepiece is hand-finished by skilled artisans, who employ traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Throughout its history, AP has been at the forefront of horological innovation. The brand has introduced numerous groundbreaking complications, including the world's first minute-repeating wristwatch in 1892 and the first perpetual calendar wristwatch in 1957.
Here we have an Audemars Piguet Classic Cal 2120 produced circa 1960s.
For AP Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a simple yet gorgeous AP Cal 2120 36 Jewel Automatic housed in a 18K Gold Case that is breathtaking in so many ways and in near mint condition as one can see.
This seldom seen vintage AP has a Gold Dial and Black 3D Baton Indices and Hands that underwent a good and thorough cleaning to reveal pure class. The mineral crystal is original and in mint condition.
The classical designed 18K solid gold case was also carefully cleaned to remove age marks, and miniscule hairline scratches caused by aging were buffed away.
The crown is located at the traditional 3H positions and nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags. The unsigned crown is original and in near mint condition.
The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 27 March 2024. Hence, it underwent an overhaul and not a general servicing. It should be able to operate without hinderance until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.
Equipped with the Cal 2120 movement constructed from stainless steel, it has an impressive 36 Jewels and operate at 19,800 BPH. The time-grapher, after 60 hours of calibration, shows excellent readings i.e. rate of +30 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 222 with a continual straight line! Such readings are extremely exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve and longevity for such a vintage timepiece, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course, the painstaking expert calibration.
To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original AP components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in near MINT condition.
The case width and height are approximately 32.5mm (without crown) and 37mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm, and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 20cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the women.
Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.
A hi-quality Paros Brand genuine leather strap with gold buckle is provided as part of the deal. The Buyer has the option to select a different design and / or colour leather strap from my array of straps should he / she wishes to do so.
The pictures provided shows the watch case in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided.
Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone. Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.
This particular model is valued between S$ 7,762.00 to S$ 14,683.00 on various auction / online sites from un-serviced, to "as is," to serviced, to refurbished, to pristine condition models. New Old Stock (NOS) / Fully Restored and 1990 models are valued at S$ 22,483.00 thereabouts. Note: the mentioned prices do not include currency conversion, commissions, taxes and freight costs etc.
This overhauled, calibrated and polished timepiece is being sold here for S$ 9,288.00 which is extremely reasonable. So, NO LOW-BALLERS, please! Take note that low-ballers, trolls and wannabe advisors (whose "advise" is completely unwelcomed) will not be entertained, and should they persist, they will be reported and blocked!
Should the Buyer wishes the watch authenticated by the AP office, the additional cost for this is S$ 1,800.00.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost $ 2,000.00 for a proper overhaul including calibration - this cost does not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.
This is a stunning circa 1960s Audemars Piguet Classic K2120 18K Solid Gold Case in near MINT condition with a beautifully preserved vintage dial, movement, stunning case, and immaculate indices and hands; so, be unique and use something that is almost impossible to source.
This is a must-have for the AP die-hard fan, or any vintage watch fan for that matter!
